New form of community service
By Leslie Carrillo
It is the beginning of a new semester, which means a fresh start, more motivation for the summer to arrive, and most important, further opportunities to help those in need. Knowing this, the National Honor Society of Lydia Patterson Institute is starting the year with a singular form of community service. This consists of a backyard cleaning for teachers and staff, who can no longer take care of their garden. Starting this Tuesday, January 28th after school, the members of NHS will be starting their community service with the cleaning of Mrs. Chavez's backyard.
With the implementation of this activity, the members of NHS can enjoy the satisfaction of helping their community, at the same time that they support the members of their school.
